thread
This installation salvages pieces of the past to build a vision of the future. “From the empty mills and obsolete skills around this region, a new worker has been formed.” Acknowledging that she and her colleagues cannot compete with overseas pricing and mass-production plants, she explains, “as an artist and a maker I go back to the hand.” Collecting scraps to convene the traditions of tomorrow, Priddy builds agency through antiquity, stating, “we survive and sustain ourselves by offering what a factory cannot – our heart & soul.”
